Marce is an expert in ocean conservation and justice, community organizing and Latinx environmental leadership. As Founder and Executive Director of Azul, a grassroots organization that works with Latinxs throughout the Americas to protect the ocean and coasts, she is devoted to elevating Latinx voices in marine conservation by interweaving cultural fluency and grassroots organizing for people-centered policy outcomes. She is a co-founder of the Ocean Justice Forum, a founding member of the Latino Conservation Alliance, sits on the Board of Advisors for The Ocean Foundation, and serves as Vice Chair for the California State Coastal Conservancy Governing Board. She has helped design and implement a statewide network of marine protected areas as well as a sustainability and marketing program for local California fisheries, and is also a leader in the campaign to end plastic pollution in California.
