Huda is an ecologist, environmental educator, and the founder and director of Wisconsin Green Muslims, a grassroots environmental justice group formed in 2005 connecting faith, environmental justice, sustainability, and healing through education and service. For over two decades, Huda has advocated for environmental justice, initiating Muslim and Interfaith programs on energy democracy and water equity. She works on addressing pressing challenges like lead and PFAS in water as well as advocating for rainwater harvesting. Huda is a board member of the Midwest Renewable Energy Association. She is a founding member of the Interfaith Earth Network of Southeastern Wisconsin, Wisconsin Interfaith Power and Light, Wisconsin Creation Care Ambassadors, and the Islamic Society of North America Green Initiative Team. Huda serves on the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission Environmental Justice Taskforce, the Healing Our Waters Great Lakes Coalition Equity, Advisory, and Action Committee, the Wisconsin Environmental Justice and Infrastructure Initiative Steering Committee, the national Centering Equity in the Sustainable Building Sector (CESBS) Governance Team, and the Midwest Frontline Fund Advisory Circle. She previously served on the Milwaukee Environmental Justice Roundtable Leadership and Planning Team and the Wisconsin Environmental Equity Tool Ad Hoc Advisory Committee.
