I have a deep knowledge of intersections of environmental justice, proven program implementation strategies at the grassroots level, as well as authentic community engagement practices that empower and uplift residents and supporters in marginalized and underserved neighborhoods. In my work, I connect, collaborate, and build broad community leadership on behalf of our common waters. Whether it is urban forestry/green infrastructure planning, water safety at area beaches, or utilizing arts in programming, I develop strong community partnerships. I'm excited to talk about how water connects us all. Recognitions of my work include the 2024 Unity Award from Milwaukee Magazine, a Positively Milwaukee Environmental Hero Award from TMJ4, the 2023 African American Environmental Pioneer Award from Nearby Nature Milwaukee, 2021 Women’s History Month Award and 2020 Black Excellence Award for Volunteerism from the Milwaukee Times Weekly Newspaper.
